Sujata Desai

Dr. Desai is a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist with a passion for helping pets see their best. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) before receiving her veterinary degree in 2010 from the Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Desai completed a one-year small-animal rotating internship at Blue Pearl Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She then moved to Atlanta, where she spent six years practicing as a small-animal veterinarian and building strong relationships within the local community. Inspired by her longstanding interest in ophthalmology, she returned to Tufts to pursue specialty training, completing her residency and achieving board certification in 2021.

After finishing her specialty training, Dr. Desai returned to Atlanta, where she is proud to continue serving the community she has come to call home.

Outside of work, Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with her family, watching stand-up comedy, playing board games, and reading about all things ophthalmology.
