Dr. Kopec is originally from New Jersey, but after completing her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, she took some time off and lived in Sydney, Australia for 3 years. After a great time down under, she decided to return to the US for vet school in 2016, and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2020. She then completed a rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, followed by a neurology residency at the University of Georgia. During her 3-year residency, she fell in love with Georgia and decided to move here permanently to start a neurology service at AVSE. 

Dr. Kopec is excited to provide a neurology service to the Georgia veterinary community as she truly loves all things neurology, both medical and surgical! She is extremely passionate about her patients and is dedicated to finding new ways to help some of the most difficult cases. 

In her free time, Dr. Kopec enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring new bars and restaurants. However, she is also equally as happy staying in and cuddling with her two furbabies – a goofy black lab named Halle (who came back with her from Australia) and her best friend/sister, a little black cat named Nia.
