Dr. Beatrix Nanai
Dr. Beatrix Nanai brings a unique dual board certification in both surgery and neurology to AVSE, offering advanced expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurologic and surgical cases.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Dr. Nanai earned her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Sciences in 1998, where she also completed a surgical internship. She relocated to the United States in 2001 and completed a surgical externship at South Carolina Surgical Referral Services.
From 2004 to 2007, she completed a residency in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at the Animal Emergency and Referral Center in Fort Pierce, Florida. In 2007, she became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN), and then went on to pursue a second residency in surgery, becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) in 2014.
Before joining AVSE, Dr. Nanai served as the head of the Surgery and Neurology department at the Veterinary Emergency Referral Center in Pensacola, FL. She has lectured for numerous veterinary organizations, authored articles, and contributed to peer-reviewed publications as an expert in the field of veterinary neurology and surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Nanai enjoys Kung Fu and spending time with her sphinx cat Nebka.
