Amanda Day
Amanda attended Gwinnett Technical College where she received her AAS in Veterinary Technology. During her time there, she interned at Zoo Atlanta as well as Emory University in the Department of Animal Resources. She graduated in 2022 and became a licensed veterinary technician soon after. She has been working in general practice since graduation and is thrilled to join the specialty team here at AVSE.
Amanda has a passion for surgery and anesthesia as well as a special interest in exotic animal medicine. She volunteers with the Chattahoochee Nature Center on the weekends helping their team to rehabilitate local reptiles, amphibians, and birds of prey.
Amanda is obsessed with her two incredible cats, a male bobtail tuxedo cat named Barry Blue Jeans and a gray tabby named Zelda, as well as her three family dachshunds, Maggie, Bailey, and Daisy. When she is not staring affectionately at her animals, you can usually find her watching a movie, going to a concert, reading, or cross-stitching.
Amanda’s biggest goal in life has always been to make people happy and she believes people are happiest when their favorite companions live long, healthy lives. Her career continually rewards her by giving her chances to make that happen.
